The course gives basic information about employment, search for work, and working life. The expert lectures, events, and workshops included in the course offer information about current working life topics and skills. The course aims to develop understanding and skills that will help you to plan and build your career path. The topics of the study sessions include, for example, the Finnish working culture, job markets, employment, and self-employment, writing of a CV, and information on how to market and promote your skills and competencies.

Mobile Game Programming

Have you ever wanted to make your game run a mobile platform? Mobile games market has skyrocketed to a massive industry and most of us have played some mobile games. They are often smaller in scope than traditional desktop games and therefore faster to develop. However, mobile games also have their own special needs to take in account in development. The course will focus on developing mobile games with selected game engine middleware. We will learn to create games of our own and optimize it for a variety of mobile devices.

3D Modeling and Texturing

Do you wish to build stylized characters, construct photorealistic landscapes or design appealing textures? 3D Modeling and Texturing gives you the required tools and knowledge to shape, sculpt and shade three-dimensional objects for digital environments. This course focuses on the basic concepts related to 3D modeling: The asset pipeline, mesh modeling, digital sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, seamless texturing, texture painting, texture baking, shader design, import-export to game engine, and game engine graphics related features and settings.

Finnish for society

The aim of the course is to achieve the language skills of an independent language user, i.e. to be able to participate in current discussions on Finnish culture and society and to follow Finnish-language media independently. The course requires active participation and attendance (70 contact hours) and completion of the given tasks and coursework within the agreed timeframe.
